Smiling Report Episode 14

Today, I'd like to pose a question that might sound like a riddle from a biblical game show: "Did you know that you can make God happy?" Indeed, we often think of God as someone who hands out tasks and duties, and then watches from above to see how we manage. But have we ever considered that we might make His divine heart yearn for us, just as ours yearns for Wi-Fi when the signal drops out?

We are told in the Letter to the Hebrews, in chapter eleven, verse six, that "without faith it is impossible to please God." It's like saying that without water, you can't grow plants. Faith is our spiritual oxygen and trusting that God exists and has a plan for us is like the seeds we must plant in our hearts.

It is said that true faith is not just believing that God is as real as the electricity bill, but also that He made the first move. Through the cross, Jesus opened the door to God's living room and invited us all to enter, sit on the couch next to Him, and gaze at the TV together. But seriously - accepting this invitation and trusting what He has done for us is like accepting an invite to the best party in town.

Now, there's a difference between having a true relationship and doing things "because you have to." We don't have to jump through hoops to gain God's favor—it's not celestial jump rope. He already likes us, even before our good deeds. It's a bit like your mom who loves you even when you forget to take out the trash.

When we believe, our hearts start to beat in the rhythm of God's love. The Letter to the Hebrews says that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him. And it's not about getting everything on our wish list for Christmas, but rather, finding something more - the very presence of God.

If you feel that your spiritual Wi-Fi signal is weak, find someone who can help you fix it. And if you've already got that connection, consider whether it's time to stop being just "religiously active" and start investing in a relationship that brings true joy—to both you and God.

In conclusion, it's not about doing various things to earn love; it's about living in the love that is already ours. And remember, every day we can make God happy... even if it's just a smile in His direction when we think no one is looking.

Let this thought guide and delight you. May God be with us.
